The Region

Batak Dam Resort has a connection with Trakia International Highway. It also has bus lines to and from Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Peshtera, Velingrad, and Rakitovo. Batak Dam Resort, in Danoto Site, is situated at a distance of 130 kms from Sofia, 56 kms from Plovdiv, 38 kms from Pazardzhik, 28 kms from Velingrad, and 7 kms from Batak. Sveti Konstantin Site and Tsigov Chark Resort are in its vicinity.

Summers are cool here, and winters are mild. The resort is lit up by the sun in periods when the other parts of the region are covered with spring and autumn fogs. The diverse scenery - reserves, natural landmarks, water resources, varied flora and fauna, create perfect conditions for hunting, fishing, country tourism, hiking, winter and water sports.

Tourism

The dams Golyam Beglik and Beglika, the sites Shiroka Polyana, Djeneura, Beglika, and Petrovo Bardo, the mounts Batashki Snezhnik, Syutkya, Ostri Vrah, and Semerelan, Snezhanka Cave, Fotenski Waterfall, and Batak Ski-Track are situated near the resort. Around Batak, there are 9 working chapels. In the dam, watercraft-modelling competitions and a frigate are being held every year.

Hunting

The existing game in the region includes deers, roes, wild boars, wild goats, bears, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs, squirrels, wood-grouse capercailzies, doves, crows, partridges, thrushes; with wild ducks and geese around the dams.

Fishing

The fish in the dam includes: perches, perchpikes, sheatfish, rudds, carps, etc.

Every year, the traditional Batashka Sech Fishing Competition is being held in February
